Enjoy Life Foods has added another delicious snack to their product line. If you haven’t yet tried their decadent soft baked bars, you must! Enjoy Life sent me a full sample of all the flavors of the decadent bars. These really satisfy a craving when you “need” some chocolate, or anytime you need a snack.

As always, I know that I can trust the Enjoy Life brand to find recipes that will be free from all the most common allergens. I was really curious to read the ingredients on these bars when I saw the icing drizzled over each bar, but sure enough they were still allergy safe.

The first flavor I couldn’t wait to try was cinnamon bun… and it did not disappoint. After trying all the flavors this one was still my favorite. It really does taste like a cinnamon bun. The best addition to this recipe is the orange peel flavor, it just makes it perfect.

The next one I had to try was the cherry cobbler. I have to say, this one didn’t appeal to me all that much. It’s still tasty, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. There was just something about the cherry that didn’t quite make it for me.

The s’mores flavor definitely did appeal to me. It’s super chocolatey! This one makes a great treat. It’s the perfect amount of chocolate.

Lastly, the chocolate sunbutter is my second favorite flavor. This one is tastes somewhere between fudge and a brownie. It almost reminds me of eating a peanut butter cup, which used to be my favorite candy before food allergies.

I would recommend giving any (or ALL) of the decadent bars a try. I’ve brought these along with me several times now when I know we’ll be somewhere that dessert will be served. I feel like I can enjoy my own dessert along with everyone else. Pick up a box to try and let me know what you think!

Enjoy Life Foods: Chewy Bars

I just love Enjoy Life Foods! As you can probably imagine, I was more than happy to sample their newly reformulated chewy bars. Enjoy Life Foods kindly sent me a box of each of their four tasty flavors of chewy bars. Before now I had only ever tried the very berry flavor, so I was eager to give the others a try.

Enjoy Life boxes

I wasn’t too surprised that I enjoyed each flavor since I enjoy all of their other products. I was a little surprised at how small of a portion they are… however, they are more filling than they look like they will be and did leave me feeling satisfied. I think the very berry is still my favorite, but it sure wouldn’t be too hard to talk me into having another one of the chocolate flavor.

Chewy bars

The thing about having food allergies is that there really isn’t such thing as convenience foods anymore. We never stop and pick up take-out on the way home like we used to, and most of my snacks consist of cutting up fruits and veggies. This isn’t so bad on days when I’m mostly at home, but it’s not so easy to manage when we’re on the go. Now I can have a quick and easy snack again. I stick one of these in my purse when I’m heading out to the store or pack one with my lunch when we’re going somewhere for the day. I could even see grabbing one for breakfast on a busy morning.

As always, I know I can trust this brand to be food allergy safe for me. All of their products are made in a dedicated gluten-free and nut-free facility and are always free from the eight most common allergens. If you haven’t tasted Enjoy Life Foods‘ chewy bars yet, give them a try! Let me know which one you like the best.

Terra Chips

Terra chipsI’ve discovered Terra Chips, another allergy friendly snack. It’s really hard to find any potato chips that I can have. I haven’t eaten chips in months, ever since my food allergy (wheat, soy, and corn) diagnosis. I stumbled across this brand at the health food store yesterday, I can’t believe I didn’t notice them sooner.

I bought the original flavor to try first. This flavor has “a seasonal mix of root vegetables” including sweet potato, parsnip, batata, taro, and yuca. I had to do some research to find out what a couple of those are. They taste great. They are so similar to regular potato chips only each one tastes a little different because they are all different roots. And they really are as colorful as they look on the package, which makes them even more fun to eat.

I’ll have to be careful in trying out some of the other flavors because I noticed that some flavorings did contain wheat and soy. But overall they are a great find at a reasonable price, in comparison to other health food store snacks. They were $3.39, not too bad. Looking forward to eating more of these in the future.
