I Said Yes!

Engagement photoFive years ago today, Jesse asked me to marry him… and I said YES! I have been planning to write this post all week, but my that sneaky husband of mine went and beat me to it. He posted our engagement story on his blog in the wee hours of the morning. I can’t really be mad about it though since he did remember.

Obviously, I’m so very glad I said yes. I can’t even imagine what my life would be like without Jesse. I can’t believe that day was FIVE years ago, just wait and see where we are after the next five!

Enjoy Life Foods: Granola

I ate cereal with my breakfast! I haven’t been able to eat any cereal in months. I bought Enjoy Life granola a while ago, but hadn’t tried it until now because I was afraid the milk would bother my stomach too much. I finally gave it a try and was fine with the small amount of milk.

Granola

The granola is super yummy. I tried the cinnamon flavor first. It’s very cinnamon-y, which is great! The main ingredient is brown rice flakes. And of course, all of their products are free from the top eight most common allergens so I know they are always a safe choice. I love their brand!

Being fine with the milk makes me think it’s time to give some of my other allergens a try too. Supposedly, eliminating my allergens for six months will make me more tolerant to them again, as long as I have them in very small amounts. It makes me a little nervous to try the other foods again since I had more unpleasant reactions to them, but it sure would be nice to not have to worry so much when eating away from home. I’m getting close to six months now so we’ll see.

CF Riders

Yesterday we had the privilege of meeting the CF Riders! We had Brian, his wife Christie, and their super cute daughter Hayden over to our house to get to know them a little. They were vacationing in Florida and let us know they would be in our area if we had time to meet them. They are a great a couple, we look forward to spending more time with them in the future.

CF Riders

Jesse first met Brian online through a mutual CF friend. They hit it off right away, having so much in common. Meeting new CFers is amazing, there is never a shortage of things to talk about. It’s so cool to talk with friends our age about managing hospital visits and refilling daily pill bottles. Obviously, these aren’t topics that come up in our circle of “normal” friends. Brian was interested in hearing about Jesse’s treatment routine and seeing his aerosol equipment. It was very interesting to hear some of the differences in their treatment plans and medications. Different doctors and different hospitals have varying opinions about the best plans for their CFers.

DREAM BIG, RIDE FREE, BREATHE EASY! That’s the motto for the origination they have founded together. Their goal is to raise awareness and financial support for cystic fibrosis. They’ve been traveling across the country meeting lots of CFers and spreading their message to get their organization off the ground. Be sure to check out the CF Riders website to learn more about them.
