Thankful for Christmas

We all have so many things to be thankful for in our lives. With all the busyness in our lives, especially at this time of year, it is important to take the time to remember all the blessings in our lives. Ronnie and Mandi have been great at reminding us to share what we are thankful for. Be sure to check out their blog to see what they and others are thankful for too.

Vacation

This week, I am thankful for VACATION! Today is my last work day for the rest of the year. I can’t even tell you how much I need this break. I am so looking forward to some great relaxation and fun times with family.

Failed

Today I went for my weekly allergy shot.  I had quiet a hard time dealing with my reactions from last week’s shot.  I had swollen lips, extreme dizziness and nausea, and shortness of breath.  After I explained my symptoms to the doctor, she suggested that I should probably discontinue shots for at least a couple of months.

My reactions were making me worse than when I was just dealing with the allergies.  She thinks that part of the problem is that they were trying to treat me for too many (48) things at once.  She said that after a couple months I might want to come back and try working on a few allergens at a time.  She thought we would possibly choose dust, one type of tree, one type of weed, and so on.  That way if I can control some of my allergies, my overall health might get better.

FailThere isn’t really anything else they can do for me right now.  They had already weakened my vials, and she said the dose that I am getting right now is ridiculously small.  But I think my body is just not handling such a wide variety of allergens all at once.

I feel pretty disappointed at this result.  We spent a lot of money doing all the testing and going to treatment for the last three months.  Not to mention that the caveman diet, and avoiding foods, has made me even more sensitive to the foods that I was allergic to in the beginning.  So, I feel pretty stuck and not sure where to go from here.  I know it’s not the end of the world, but I guess I never really was a very good patient to begin with.

Birthday Dinner

We had a combined birthday celebration for both Jesse and Andrew on Saturday night. We had a fun and relaxing time together. Jesse requested lasagna and Andrew concurred… so that’s what Mom made them.

Yay… Ashley is here! I started taking a few pictures, then we all started getting a little silly and everyone wanted their picture in front of the tree.

Jesse’s other birthday request was a peanut butter and jelly pie from Nicole. She brought that to Thanksgiving and Jesse really liked it, so he put in a special request for her to make it again.

Then Sunday was a very successful shopping day. All of our Christmas shopping is basically done! All in all a great weekend.
