Just Our Luck

Dead car

Just what we needed today, right? This is what happened when we stopped for gas this morning. Luckily there was a couple willing to help us as soon as they finished filling their gas. And they even had jumper cables, because I had never put ours in my new car. Then we headed over to the auto store to find out which part was dead. The good news was that all we needed to do was get a new battery, so it could have been worse. Just another hundred bucks out the door.

Since we had now missed church we decided to go ahead and do our Sams shopping. They, of course, were out of the one thing we really needed. Then when we finished shopping, we got all the way to our next stop before realizing that we had left stuff in the cart. So, I got out to do our next errand while Jesse drove back to retrieve our forgotten item. I’m not sure if we should leave the house anymore today… what else will go wrong?

Just one of those days!!

Sleepy Mind Games

SleepingWhy is it that I can never sleep in on a Saturday??

Every week day the alarm goes off at 5 am.  I’m always so tired that I just hit snooze and go right back to sleep until I am rudely awakened 7 minutes later.  This week, with the new allergy medicine making me so tired, I did this sometimes several times per day.  Finally I would force myself to get up, go downstairs, and get on the computer until my brain was alive enough to make myself toast for breakfast.  So, I was really looking forward to today for catching up on some much needed sleep.

However, today I was wide awake at 4:50!  NO!!  I stayed in bed for quite a while telling myself “Go back to sleep, go back to sleep.”  No luck.  I was up baking muffins for breakfast and making plans for the day.  If only my mind would work with me instead of against me.

Salt Rooms

Salt roomBreathing Clear salt therapy just opened in Tampa. They had an open house tonight, so we went to check it out.

I had read about people using this therapy on the CF boards.  Breathing the salt air is supposed to help all sorts of respiratory conditions.  But the closest one was about a two hour drive away so I had put it out of my mind.  Then I started seeing commercials for one opening close to us and was curious to see what it would be like.

I was a little disappointed at how small the place was.  It was a super tiny office crowed with a ton of people.  I was expecting a larger place, but there was only one adult room with two chairs and one kids room with one chair and a sandbox with some toys.  I also thought we would get to sit and see what it would be like if we did buy a session, because they were a little expensive.

They did have good food and drinks!  And we liked that the walls were made out of salt bricks.  Maybe we will win a free session so we can try it out.

Has anyone tried going to a salt room?  Does it really work to help CF or my allergies?
